Our Story Starts in Calvillo
Before La Herradura had a home in Oklahoma City, there were family recipes and cooking traditions rooted in Calvillo, Aguascalientes. Those roots still shape who we are today.
From Calvillo to Oklahoma City
La Herradura was built around recipes passed down through generations. Bringing them to Oklahoma meant bringing a piece of Calvillo with us—not recreating a restaurant concept, but continuing something that was already part of the family.
Today, we’re proud to share that connection with the community we serve in NW Oklahoma City.
Some Recipes Come With Names
Look through our menu and you’ll notice dishes such as Birria “Calvillo,” Tamales Chepa, Timo’s Pork Chops, and Lucy’s Tortas. Those names give the menu a personality that is distinctly La Herradura.
Alongside them are the Mexican dishes our guests return for, all part of a menu shaped by where we came from and what our customers have made their favorites.

Calvillo Never Left the Kitchen
Oklahoma City is home, but our connection to Aguascalientes remains part of La Herradura. It’s in the recipes we continue to serve, the dishes carrying family names, and the story behind the horseshoe on our sign.
